“Andy, the photos here are pretty easy to locate, I thought your quiz is much more of a challenge, even to someone who knows his way around Derby. I think it is great to see people taking an interest in what is above the shop windows.”

“@by EdDerby, thankyou glad you like my Derby quiz. I should add some more questions to it as lots of things have changed in Derby since 2007 when I created that quiz.

“@by Tamas "Anyone know where the wooden cobbles are". Was that a question on my quiz?
These are in the entrance to the Guildhall, you can see them in my 360 degree virtual photograph on my Phoenix Foundry blog :

“@by ianshelton. I think you have just about named all the photo locations, however 2. "Derwent Bridge - the one near the chapel", That is St. Mary's Bridge
Number 3 is the Guild Hall, two scenes are used either side of the clock tower, this one is on the left http://tinyurl.com/b938uuo
The Latin inscription above this tells us that the building burned down in 1841, (DEFLAGRATUM' AD:MDCCCXLI) the opposite scene has a Latin inscription telling us that the building was rebuilt (with a clock tower) in 1842 .”

“I can only hope I'm right, here goes
1. Osnabruck Square / Market Hall wall - our twin city ; it was a difficult delivery
2. Derwent Bridge - the one near the chapel, looks rougher in real life, with more bird poo
3. War memorial Midland Rd - before it was stripped by metal thieves
4. War memorial, Market Place - after it was fitted with 'bullets' to prevent tired shoppers sitting on it
5. Assembly Rooms - not a scene from Blade Runner
6. Waterfall Market Place - not a giant urinal.... well ok then
7. Quad - not another scene from Blade Runner
8. Map of city, seems to highlight Industrial Museum - currently shut, reopening ??
9. Oak house - where marriages occur, far nicer than that shoe factory place they used to have
10. Market Hall - refurbished 1988, closing soon perhaps - or indeed already judging by stall occupancy levels ??
What a wonderful city of joy we live in .... not”
