POLICE have issued a warning after receiving a report of a suspicious incident involving a cash machine in Burton.

It happened at 8pm on Tuesday when a customer using the ATM outside Nisa Local, in Horninglow Road North, alerted staff to a device fitted to the card slot. Police seized the cloning equipment.

Officers are asking customers to be extra vigilant when using ATMs and to report anything suspicious.

Crime prevention tips include always checking the machine has not been tampered with – for example, check for anything which looks like it has been added and make sure there is nothing overhead that can film or photograph the pin number being entered
