Police operation targets burglars and car criminals
A CRACKDOWN on burglary and car crime over the past month has led to seven arrests in Chaddesden.
Police have been focusing on stamping out crime by executing search warrants at homes in the area.
In one raid, officers found about £2,000 of power tools and in a second, they found a stolen motorbike.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Another pair were arrested after a spate of car break-ins at Wyvern Retail Park.
A man has been charged with theft from a car and another is on bail for vehicle crime offences, while a youth has been charged with burgling a house in Essex Street.
Sergeant Matt Adams said he hoped the crackdown would help people feel safer.
He said: "We'd urge anyone who has an issue in the Chaddesden neighbourhood to contact us."
Anyone with information on crime should contact Derbyshire Police on 0345 123 3333.
