Police operation teens sold booze
OFF-LICENCES and a pub in Derby sold alcohol to underage customers during test purchases by police.
Derbyshire officers asked teenagers aged 16 and under to go into shops and pubs in the city to buy booze.
In the latest operation, officers said the teenagers were used in the Pear Tree, Allenton and Alvaston areas of the city.
Licensing and enforcement officer Pc Tenielle Scanlan said that two outlets sold drink in the Pear Tree area, as did three in Alvaston and Allenton and one pub in the city centre.
Pc Scanlan said on-the-spot fines of £80 were issued to the person serving in each case.
