Pupils take smarter scooting lessons to help them get safely to school
SMARTER scooting was the lesson of the day at Sale and Davys C of E Primary School in Barrow-on-Trent.
The Scooter Smart day was run by Rob Bounds, from Derbyshire County Council, and he aimed to encourage children to use their toys safely to get to school.

Mr Bounds showed pupils how to control their scooters and warned them of dangers to look out for when riding them. These include pedestrians and cars in driveways, making sure they are in control and not travelling too fast to stop and wearing something bright so that they can be seen on the roads and pavements by other people.
Mr Bounds said: "Using a scooter is fun and can help reduce traffic congestion."
