Rail boss praises Derby built Bombardier trains
A BOSS from rail operator Southern Trains has said he is "delighted" with the quality of trains that his firm has ordered from Derby manufacturer Bombardier.
Gerry McFadden, fleet director for Southern, made his comments during a visit to the company's Litchurch Lane plant this afternoon, where he inspected the first completed carriage on the production line.

It is the first of 130 that have been ordered by Southern in a deal worth £188 million.
The rail operator first placed the order in December last year.

Mr McFadden said: "I'm absolutely delighted with the quality of the finished product. Bombardier has delivered the first carriage in record time.
