Rams stars say 'no' to violence against women
DERBY County's players have taken a vow never to commit or condone violence against women.
The Rams teamed up with Derby City, South Derbyshire district and East Staffordshire borough councils to support a national campaign to end domestic violence.
Today, when Derby County take on Preston North End at Pride Park, volunteers will be at the ground to raise awareness of the White Ribbon campaign.
They will sell white ribbons, collect for refuges and hand out information about domestic violence helplines.
Players made the pledge never to "commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women".
The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) is the UK branch of the global campaign to ensure men take more responsibility for reducing the level of violence against women.
East Staffordshire Borough Council was given the White Ribbon Town Award in September for its work with the campaign.
Leader Richard Grosvenor said: "I hope that fans will see their local football heroes supporting the campaign and be inspired to find out more."
