Former Grimsby Town defender Darran Kempson has joined Alfreton Town.
He had been club captain at Blundell Park and played against Alfreton earlier in the season but his final first-team outing for the Mariners came in mid-November.
Kempson, who stands 6ft 2in tall, has a wealth of experience at Conference level and above, with his list of former clubs including Morecambe, Wrexham, Shrewsbury Town, Crewe Alexandra and Accrington Stanley.
He will wear the number 26 shirt for Alfreton and has been added to Nicky Law's squad for today's Blue Square Bet Premier match against promotion-chasing Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
