Reid starts out among the stars of golf
MEL Reid takes her place among the top women golfers in the world as the fifth edition of the HSBC Women's Champions begins today in Singapore.
The entry list reads like a who's who of golf, with 49 of the 50 top-ranked players on the final LPGA money list making the journey to the Tanah Merah Country Club for the tournament widely regarded as Asia's Major.
Between them, they have won more than 450 international tournaments and 36 major titles.
Reigning champion Karrie Webb faces a tough task against a line-up including Yani Tseng, Suzann Pettersen, Na Yeon Choi, Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer, the official world's top five. Reid and Laura Davies earned invitations for their efforts in the Solheim Cup last year.
