Updated: Body of woman in Derbyshire reservoir identified as Ripley woman Joy Wilding

THE body of a woman which was found in a Derbyshire reservoir has been identified as Joy Wilding.

The 58-year-old, of Stanley Avenue, Ripley, was formally identified this afternoon.

Police were called by a dog walker to the water, which is next to Butterley Railway Station, in Ripley, at 7.45am on Monday.

Last night a local woman contacted police to say that her sister, who fit the description issued, was missing.

 

Enquiries are continuing into how the woman came to be in the reservoir.

 

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Steve Roberts at Amber Valley CID on 101.
