PART of Derby's new inner ring road, currently being built, will be named by the city's public.

Derby City Council is seeking suggestions from people to name the stretch of road, between Osmaston Road and Stafford Street, being constructed as part of the £36.2m Connecting Derby project.

The new road is being built in two sections, Osmaston Road to Burton Road, and Burton Road to Stafford Street. Each section needs a name.

Once the council has received ideas it will ask the public to vote on a short-list to find the final two names.

E-mail suggestions to sam antha.whitworth@derby.gov.uk before August 28.

“How about 'Freddie's Boulevard' to remember the bar on Curzon Street that has made way for it?”
