“It's been very interesting reading all of the comments, views and assumptions regarding the accident as the motorcyclist who was involved in the collision. As someone already said, how can you know what happened from a picture?
The matter is with the police who have all the facts from everyone involved, but it is unfortunately the case that the driver just didn't see me as he pulled into my lane to do a u-turn.
I have been extremely lucky, and I would strongly urge anyone riding a bike of any size to wear proper protective gear. Mine undoubtedly saved me. You just never know what's going to happen when you're on the road, so don't take the chance.
Thank you for the kind comments and for all the support I've received. My special thanks go to the ladies who never told me their names but knelt on the floor with me until the ambulance arrived, the A&E doctor who was on his way to work and stopped to help and then took care of me whilst I was in A&E, the A&E department and ward 101 staff at Derby Royal Hospital who I can't praise enough, the paramedics and police who took good care of me, my friends and family, and to my partner for taking care of me and for being there always.”

“Lets get one thing straight. Motorcyclists often undertake (illegal), speed (illegal), and are just as likely to be careless, distracted, or just plain stupid,
Xmas_Cracker,
Is it just Motorbikes that undertake or speed?”

“@Xmas_Cracker
As somebody that also works with the motorcyclist and knows details of the incident, my views are not 'moronic', 'biased' or "slanderous" as I know the facts.
It would appear my knowledge is somewhat greater than that of somebody that knows nothing of the incident, and I would recommend that you check the details before making accusations.”

"In YOUR opinion !
Perhaps the car driver will have a different viewpoint."
The car driver that was driving over the limit... yes his viewpoint is so reliable and valid...”

“I work with the motorcyclist and happy to say she is fine. Bruised but no broken bones or any significant injurys.
It's been interesting reading all the comments. Completely agree with Magie. All I'm going to add is that the motorcyclist wasn't at fault.
Thanks for the messages of support.”
