THE organisation that works to make Derbyshire's roads safer has welcomed the removal of pre-published questions from driving theory tests.

Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership said the move would encourage people to learn the rules of the road rather than just how to pass the test.

Until now, test questions and answers have been available in an official theory test guide but the Driving Standards Agency has decided to stop printing them.

A new set of questions has been introduced and they will not feature in future editions of the DSA's theory test guide.

Partnership chairman Mike Ashworth said: "Drivers need to understand the rules of the road in order to stay safe. This move by the DSA should encourage candidates to learn each topic area thoroughly because they will no longer be able to simply memorise questions and answers."
