TWO masked men jumped over the counter at a petrol station and demanded money from the female cashiers.

The pair threatened staff at the Texaco garage, in Nottingham Road, Alfreton, just before 9pm on Monday, and ran off with a bag of cash in the direction of Somercotes.

No weapons were used and the staff were not injured, said the police.

Both robbers were black with scarves covering their faces.

One of the men wore a navy waterproof coat, hooded jumper and dark trousers. He is about 6ft tall.

The other offender wore black trousers and a black hooded top.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call Derbyshire police on 0345 123 3333.
