Rolls-Royce wins Successful Practice Award from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology
ROLLS-ROYCE has been recognised as one of the best technology companies in Europe.
The firm, which has its civil aerospace and marine power divisions in Derby, was presented with the Successful Practice Award by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology at a ceremony in the Netherlands.
Rolls-Royce was one of five winners selected from about 160 who took part in the awards.
Rolls-Royce, which has invested over £7.5 billion in the last decade on research and development, was commended for its long-term strategic approach to technology development.

Ric Parker, director of research and technology at Rolls-Royce, said: "This award recognises the consistent effort and contribution of our global technology management team and all our researchers."
The Fraunhofer Institute is part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the largest applied research organisation in Europe with more than 80 research units, 22,000 staff and centres in Europe, the US, Asia and Middle East.
