BURTON ran in five tries while keeping Walsall at bay to claim their first Midlands One West success.

Tom Bartram opened the scoring inside two minutes following neat work from Darrly Banton and Danny Clarke.

Joe Carpenter added a second try after 35 minutes, which was converted by Dave Archer.

John Philliskirk's 40-metre run then set up Lewis Brooks, who scored to make it 17-0 at half-time.

Soon after the restart, Danny Smith forced his way over to increase Burton's lead.

And after Bartram had scampered in for his second try, Smith dived over for his second to round off the scoring.

Walsall did all they could to break their duck but some excellent defensive work from the Crofters ensured a clean sheet.
