THE largest carrier at East Midlands Airport has started flying to two new destinations in Poland.

Yesterday, Ryanair began flights to Bydgoszcz from the Castle Donington airport and on Tuesday started operating a route to Rzeszow.

It has also restarted flights to Lodz.

On Tuesday, the airline announced a big jump in profits thanks to falling fuel costs.

The firm reported pre-tax profits of £376.6m in the six months to September 30, compared to £94.4m for the same period last year.

Ryanair's Laura McCormack said: "Ryanair will continue to grow as other airlines pull routes and reduce capacity."

“Ryanair try to get more routes out of Eastern Europe and put pressure on Bratislava and Vienna airport to get free airport charge deal, then make pay more extra fees to their passenger!”
