SHALES CALLS FOR QUICK RECOVERY
LULLINGTON Park captain Jonny Shales (pictured) says it will be important for his side to stay positive after a second successive league defeat.
“If we're not careful and don't lift our heads up quickly from this, we could find ourselves on the end of a bit of a bad run,” said Shales.
“We've got to stay positive and keep playing the way we know we can.”
Although he felt the result might have been different if he had won the toss, Shales had no complaints about the result.
“The wicket got better as the day went on and it was a good toss for them to win,” he said.
“They bowled with good lines and we struggled to get it away. Considering how we'd started, I was reasonably pleased with the runs we ended up with.
“But George Moulds and the South African batted well.
“And when Dave Smit came in, he supported George well and took the game away from us.”
