STRANGE lights hovering over Heanor and Ilkeston are some of the more recent sightings of UFOs.

According to a report sent to Derby's Phenomenon Research Association, five red glowing lights were seen in the sky heading towards Stapleford in April.

Sharon Dorman, who saw the lights, said: "When they came over they were about as high as a plane when it's coming in to land at East Midlands Airport. There was no noise and they were going at a steady pace going upwards gradually.

"The picture was taken at Heanor by a friend and sent to us, but we also saw them coming over Ilkeston and heading towards Stapleford/Sandiacre way. A week or so later we saw two more going around the same area."
