Safety improvements being made to St Chad's Road junction in Derby from Monday
SAFETY improvements are to take place at the St. Chad's Road, Overdale Road and Whitaker Road junction in Derby starting on Monday.
Work to improve the junction lay out will last for four weeks.
The improvements will see the junction simplified, reducing conflicts between vehicles.
New areas of footway will be created and improvements made to road signs and road markings together with the introduction of new parking restrictions.

The works will also include the construction of a new parking bay.
The changes are being made following an investigation into the high number of collisions at the St Chad’s Road/Overdale Road junction.
Once the work has been completed the new junction layout should help to keep the junctions clear of parked vehicles which in turn will improve visibility.
The works will ensure parking opportunities for residents and visitors to the area are improved while maintaining a high turnover of vehicles and reducing indiscriminate long-term parking.
