Savile proves I was right to bash celebrity worship
IS it fair that David Beckham's son, Brooklyn, didn't have to go through any kind of assessment, like other hopefuls, when becoming the new face of Burberry fashion?
He's simply used the fact of having two famous parents to walk right into the covetous job with ease.
There is too much of this celebrity bowing and worshipping by ordinary folk.
It finally showed its consequence in the Jimmy Savile saga, abuse of the young stretching back two generations.

The media made heroes of Savile and co to the point of ordinary folk looking the other way.
Previous celebrity bashing in my letters over the years proved I was right to write against non-stop celebrity worship.

“So, the vile acts of one individual make you right in apparently hating (envying) anyone achieving fame?
What an incredible way to attempt to take glory from such abominable events.
You are not only tedious and miserable but clearly very odd.”

“Perhaps the Telegraph could begin its campaign against this trend by ending the publication of letters from people who have precious little to say but appear desperate to get their name in the paper on a daily basis.”
