STAFF and pupils at a Burton primary school will be celebrating its official opening tomorrow.

Outwoods Primary was created following the merger of Castle Park Infant and William Hutson Junior schools.

Staffordshire County Council cabinet member for children and young people Ian Parry will perform the opening ceremony.

The building work on the former junior school has cost more than £2m and has taken nearly a year to complete.

The new school has places for 420 pupils and 52 nursery children.

Mr Parry said: "After months of building work, it's great to see how the school has been expanded and modernised."
