A DERBY school will replace lead on parts of its roof with an alternative material after sections of the metal flashing were stolen.

Lead was taken from Derby Grammar School in November and soon after the caretaker noticed there was further damage with more lead ripped off and rolled up.

The school had to apply for planning permission for the new material as the building, in Rykneld Road, Littleover, is listed. Permission has now been granted.
