A DERBY school ended its term with a speech day and prize-giving.

The Old Vicarage School, Darley Abbey, staged the event in St Matthew's Church and pupils collected their end-of-term reports and academic and sporting prizes.

Speeches were given by head teacher Matthew Adshead and guest of honour Trish Woodhouse, head of Abbots Bromley School for Girls, in Staffordshire.

The prize-giving was followed by an evening gala.
