Schools to get extra classrooms
A TWO-ROOM temporary building is to be sited at a rapidly growing Derbyshire school.
Hilton Primary has more than 800 pupils and has increased its pupil numbers in the last few years to accommodate children from new homes in the area.
The £450,000 project, which will also include two small extensions to the main building, is part of a £1.3m programme being carried out by the county council.
It is anticipated that Hilton Primary will be able to cope with numbers in the long-term but there is a short-term need for extra classrooms.
Elsewhere, Hilltop C of E Infant School, in Ashbourne, will have £400,000 spent creating a new classroom.
