DERBY AC's Scott Edwards rubber-stamped his position as one of Wales' top up-and-coming track stars after grabbing bronze in the 400m at the Welsh Under-15 Championships.

The 13-year-old, who prefers 800m, decided to take on the shorter distance to build up his speed and ran a new personal best of 54.93secs to take third.

He hopes his performance will catch the eye of Derbyshire selectors for the English Schools Championships in Gateshead next month.
