Season ticket renewal prices up at Rams
DERBY County have announced their season ticket prices for 2012-13, which for the first time in seven years show an increase for those making renewals.
Prices for tickets renewed before the Early Bird deadline of April 15 will go up by 10% across all categories but the clubs say their prices remain among the more affordable in the Championship.

Renewal packs will be sent out to season ticket holders in the next week.
An adult Category AA ticket, in the Toyota West Stand Upper, will cost £510 if renewed before the deadline. After that, the same ticket will be £560.
Also in Category AA, a senior citizen ticket is £260 and a junior ticket £175 if bought before the Early Bird cut-off point and then £285 and £190 after the deadline.
Rams chief executive Tom Glick said: "Although there is a slight price increase, this is the first time in seven years that prices have been raised for renewing season ticket holders.
"We know our season ticket prices remain among the more affordable in the Championship and offer substantial savings over individual match rates.
"Our season ticket holders continue to be the life blood of Derby County and we consulted with various supporter groups before making our final decision on the season ticket packages, which resulted in some welcome feedback and fresh ideas."
A 0% interest payment plan is on offer for season ticket holders who renew by the end of February and also a free replica 2011-12 Derby County shirt and a £50 voucher to spend in shopDCFC.
Free season tickets for children under the age of 12 with every adult season ticket purchased remains in place and, in addition, the club is offering a new discounted season ticket for two adults and two juveniles aged between 13-17 years of age, starting from £725.
Derby say that after receiving supporter input they have updated their stadium map to make more seats available at a lower price point.
Glick said the club is fully aware of the challenging economic climate.
"We have implemented a 0% interest payment plan for supporters who sign up for next season by February 29, while the four and eight-month payment plans, which were an option last season, are also available," he added.
"We are all encouraged by our progress on the pitch and we hope our season ticket holders are too.
"The team is on the rise and Nigel Clough is continuing to build a spirited squad with a blend of talented youth and experience.
"We believe there are plenty of reasons to be positive about the future."
Season ticket holders can log on to www.WeAreDerby.com to see their individual renewal price for the 2012-13 season and can renew online.
Fans can also renew at the Ticket Office or by calling 0871 472 1884.

“good point Paul72,in fact a few good posts,i dont think if you asked the yanks they would know anything about our history/tradition,they wouldn`t know we won the league twice in the 72 +75,or beat west ham 2-0 in the charity shield final 75,our won the fa cup in 1945 ( not that i was about then of course, before someone says it ) ha,or got beat off CRemonese in 92 or won the watney cup and texaco cup,i suppose what i`m saying is what Paul72 said, they ,the yanks have bought a club which is too big for them and one they know nowt about, they only know about big hats and hamburgers, feel very sorry for Nige,he has done as he was told and reduced debt by payroll terms and also is doing a good job building a good british side.
the season ticket topic i may have to disagree with some views as if i personally lived and worked in Derby then i would always buy one,if its £520 notes yearly ,its £10 weekly,my visits to Derby cost an awfull lot more than that, petrol £60 return journey to Cumbria ,2x tickets £58,hotel 2x nights usually rather than 1 night £100 minimum, club shop spend, always get something, maybe £30,booze and nosh £200,an average weekend cost of,about £458 -£500,granted i maybe only get 7-8 home games in and usually do 6 away handy games which i travel down the M6 to ,i suppose im saying that its not a kings ransom to buy a season ticket each year if you live in and around the city.i have black and white blood running through me.SSA”

“Interesting points as ever, Pete.
We did "fluke it" in many respects last time around with Billy, so history might indeed repeat itself. Were that to happen again then for sure the strategy would have to change as this is a solid Championship team but, as we saw against Stoke, we are some way away from competing week in week out in the Premier League. At that point then, we would indeed need serious investment in new players - whether that comes from GSE, or from a new buyer.
We are a big club, with a good history, excellent attendance, excellent ground and training facilities - better than many Premier teams - young up and coming manager (OK, agreed that not everyone here will see NC as an asset) and solvent to boot. An attractive proposition unless of course the asking price is too high. Any idea on what GSE would want?
Also, Gadsby has been conspicuous in his absence/silence. Any news on that front?”

“N_O_D1 i dont care about my spelling i just find it strange that people like you find it ok that a club like ours have a squad the size of doncaster.our ground would cost a 150million to build now, we have a top training ground and the DERBY name i think this board got our club on the cheap.nigel carnt do any better with the money he as got to spend as soon as a fan says we should spend money we have people jumping on him .nigel as spoke about is frustations about lack of money although he is toeing the public line now glick is after season ticket money.so nod1 the fact you are only interested in picking me up on my english i find it very funny you are a star”

“That Pearson sold the club down the river and left the fans to pay the price.”

“My frustrations lie with the complete lack of clarity with GSE's ambitions for the club. Tom Glick's comments regarding the financial fair play rules suggest to me that GSE see the future for Derby only as a Championship club.
I'd like to see the DET and Radio Derby getting to the nub of this issue on behalf of supporters - Neil Hallam & Graham Richards were both excellent at this yet in recent times it seems to me that both lack the skill to cut to the chase and get the club to explain itself
Whilst results have been better this year with 'honest' performances I've found the Rams dull and lacking entertainment - no attacking threat or swagger. In my opnion this is NC having make the best of an average team. To me the team is well short of being strong enough to seriously mount a promotion challenge this or next season - getting close to the play off's is the most we can look forward to, while we politely stand back and let lesser clubs overtake. I find this so disheartning
Come on DET & Radio Derby please help the supporters by really challenging the club on it's ambitions stop letting them ofdf the hook with poorly researched and weak interviews
I do support NC but I'm fed up with GSE and for the first time I'm genuinely unsure whether to renew my ST”

“As got the facts Paul72 - there is a mortgage on the ground. It is not owned outright.
The board have paid off the other debts, circa £25m.
When you have read the annual report and accounts you may have half an idea of the state of play.
It is not all about spending on players like your favourite toys in the toy shop, running a club is for grown ups, and now yo uknow why.”

“"smithy got is facts wrong so i would say your not very bright jimmy"
Wow. Just how many errors in one sentence, Paul72?!
Fantastic. Hilarious! ;)
Go one genius. Tell me how many mistakes you made. I bet you aren't even aware of all of them. Ask your parents to help you and then get on with your homework, in crayon. ;)”

“another issue which gets me is that it appears that some people believe simply getting promoted is an acceptable aim, which we may achieve we the current board with a reasonable amount of luck
surely DCFC should be looking to not only get promoted, but survive year on year in the lower reaches of the premier league?? can anyone honestly say that the current board with their financial model achieve this??
admittedly there is no viable alternative at the moment, particularly in the current financial times and the board has to be applauded for the significant progress that has been made.
but they will NEVER provide the support needed to take the club back to where we belong”

“smithy got is facts wrong so i would say your not very bright jimmy your a 1 amp lol.MR PICKERING put all is money in building a new stadium and training ground i wonder what he would think about this board .its a fact this board have not paid out much money when you think we have a new stadium and training ground to go with DERBY brand name.petederby1 is right with is figures i think GSE got DERBY on the cheap .if we where signing a billy sharp type players and had a strong squad with 2or 3 proven signings then the rise would be no problem.”
