Senior duo will miss Derbyshire clash at Lord's
DERBYSHIRE will play their final one-day match of the season without two of their most senior players.
Chris Rogers and Robin Peterson are not in the Falcons' squad for the Clydesdale Bank 40 game against Middlesex at Lord's today (12.45pm).
Middlesex-bound Rogers will be given time to rest his sore knee in the hope that he will be fit to make a farewell appearance for the county in the last Championship fixture, which starts on September 13.
Peterson has not been involved in the last two CB40 sides, though he too is likely to make a final Derbyshire appearance in that Championship game against Glamorgan at Cardiff.
However, the game at Lord's may be Graham Wagg's last for the club. He is expected to put the final touches to his move to Glamorgan in the next few days and the prospect of him playing against his future employers could depend on whether or not the Welsh county clinch promotion this week.
If Glamorgan still need to beat Derbyshire to be sure of going up, it would put Wagg in an unacceptably awkward position to have to try to stop them winning the match.
Garry Park is added to the 11 that played in the CB40 against Northants on Monday and so too is Ian Hunter, who may be in line to make a very belated first appearance of the season following a long injury lay-off.
Victory for Derbyshire could see them finish in fourth place in Group B, which would at least be an improvement on their poor start in the competition.
