Shopkeeper attacked with bicycle lock

A 58-YEAR-OLD shopkeeper suffered head injuries during a robbery at a Derby shop.

The man was struck with what was believed to be a bicycle lock during a raid at Chad Booze, in Chaddesden Lane, at about 8.45pm on Monday (08).

The three men who carried out the robbery stole cash from the till before running off along Wilsthorpe Road.

One of the robbers was white with blonde hair. He wore a grey hooded tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms and a white bandanna over his face.

Another robber was white, wearing black trousers and a black hooded top. He also has a white bandanna over his face.

The shopkeeper was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital and was later discharged.

    “I think all shops and premises should have a total ban on hoods. Not grannies of course but everyone else. Let's make hoods a thing of the past.”
