MUSIC, dance and art were on the bill when a Derby school showed off its pupils' talents.

Merrill College staged the concert featuring choirs from the Merrill Sing Up project, which includes pupils from Allenton Primary, Alvaston Junior and Boulton Primary schools.

The Merrill College choir was formed in September last year and features 15 students aged between 11 and 15 who sing a variety of songs.

In March, the choir joined the Government's Sing Up project and members have been going into primary schools to deliver a programme to year-six pupils.

Musical accompaniment at the concert was provided by the Music Partnership wider opportunity programme, which includes Nightingale Junior, Oakwood Junior and Shelton Junior schools, together with the Derby Music Centre clarinet choir and intermediate wind band.

In addition, A-level, year-seven and year-eight pupils performed dance pieces at the Alvaston school. Artwork was also on display to visitors.
