Small earthquake felt across south Derbyshire
A SMALL earthquake struck just northwest of Loughborough this morning.
The 2.9 magnitude quake was felt up to 40 kilometres away with reports from around Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire at around 5.20am.
People said they felt a shaking and rumbling when the tremors reached Derbyshire.
