Stars turn out for big switch-on
TV'S Larry Lamb will be among the pantomime stars taking part in Derby's Christmas lights switch-on tomorrow.
Larry, who plays the villainous Captain Hook in Peter Pan at Derby Assembly Rooms this Christmas, will join a parade of entertainers through the city streets.
The festive parade will begin at The Spot at 4.15pm and make its way to the Market Place. As well as Larry, you can expect to see Frosty the Snowman, Jack Frost Stilt-walkers, Dame Able Mabel (Jason Sutton) and, of course, Santa Claus himself. The parade will be led by The Ambassadors of Borrowash Brass Band.
Once the parade reaches the Market Place the crowds will then be treated to performances from Derby band The Struts and The X Factor's Carolynne Poole.

Singer-songwriter Carolynne reached the live shows stage of this year's X Factor competition. She was the first act to leave the show after a controversial "deadlock" situation.
A selection of street acts will perform in and around St Peter's Street to entertain shoppers from 2pm to 4pm.
The main entertainment begins at 3.30pm, with the Capital FM roadshow hosted by Breakfast Show presenters Dino and Pete featuring performances from local artists. These will include Christmas carols from local choir Sing For Your Supper and a performance by musicians from Virtulight, part of Derby's Festival of Light celebrations.
The lights will be turned on at around 6pm by a selection of performers involved in the event and they will be joined by the Mayor of Derby, Councillor Lisa Higginbottom.
