Step closer for curry house's Michelin dream
A DERBY Indian restaurant has taken another step towards its dream of obtaining a Michelin star after being named the best curry house in the Midlands.
Anoki, in London Road, has been given the accolade by the Cobra Good Curry Guide 2013.
The guide lists the best 1,000 Indian restaurants from across the UK. The top 100 restaurants receive a detailed review and battle it out for the title of best restaurant in their specific region.
Owner Naveed Khaliq said: "Recognition in the guide alone is a tremendous accolade, but to be named as the best Indian restaurant in the Midlands is a real achievement.

"This brings us a step closer to our ultimate aim of attaining a Michelin star."
As well as its Derby restaurant being named the best in the Midlands, Anoki's other two outlets – on the A38 near Burton and in Nottingham – have also been included in the guide.
Anoki – which takes its name from the Urdu word for "unique" – has been short-listed for Best International Restaurant at this year's Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards.

“Congratulations to all the chefs and staff at the Anoki. My wife and I now live in Durham after living in Derby for 9 years and the Anoki London Road and Anoki on the A38 near Burton were our 2 favourite restaurants.
The staff always make you so welcome and the food is always fantastic and very well presented.
This award is very well deserved.
