A BELPER woman who has overcome the potentially-fatal disease hepatitis C has invited people with the illness to come to her monthly support group.

Catherine Ridgway launched Hep C Support Derbyshire in September last year after recovering from the illness, which can cause serious liver complications.

The 33-year-old, of Far Laund, Belper, contracted hepatitis C through a blood transfusion when she was three months old, but was not diagnosed until she gave blood as an adult.

The group will meet next Thursday at Chester Green Community Centre, City Road, Derby, from 6pm.
