Suspected swan slaughter in Long Eaton "tragic", says Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
A WILDLIFE authority has spoken out after thousands of swan feathers were found in Long Eaton at the weekend.
The feathers appeared on a canal tow path in Tamworth Road and are presumed to be those of three swans, which could have been slaughtered for their meat. A spokeswoman from Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, said: "It's absolutely appalling and very tragic. We encourage people, if they know anything, to report it to the police."
