Swimming: Harrison helps US college to title
FORMER Derventio eXcel girls' captain Rebecca Harrison played a major role as her American college, Indian River State, retained the USA National Junior College Athletic Association swimming title.
The Belper swimmer, competing close to her home in Fort Pierce, Florida, gained a gold, two silver and a bronze medal.

stateside success: Rebecca Harrison was a winner with her college in the NJCAA event in the USA.
She was a member of the 4 x 200 yard freestyle relay team which claimed first place, followed by two silver medal positions in the 200 and 500yds freestyle and a bronze in the 200yds backstroke.
Harrison is in her second year at Indian River college, where she will complete her academic year in June.
She then has a contract with Fort Lauderdale-based Nova Southeastern University, where she will continue her swimming scholarship for a further two years.
