A TAKEAWAY driver needed hospital treatment after he was hit in the face by a bottle thrown by a gang of men.

The 21-year-old victim was struck just above the lip and needed stitches following the incident, which happened in Station Road, Sandiacre, at 7pm on Friday.

Police say he was in his car and had wound down his window to get a better view of the traffic while he was waiting at a junction.

As he did so he saw a group of three men and one woman.
