Team news: Michael Jacobs in for injured Derby County starlet Will Hughes, Jamie Hanson on the bench
MICHAEL Jacobs will make his first league start since New Year's Day for Derby County in tonight's Championship clash with Bolton Wanderers.
England Under-21 international midfielder Will Hughes has been ruled out with a groin injury that he suffered during Saturday's goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, so Jacobs replaces him in the only change to Nigel Clough's side.
The former Northampton Town winger is expected to line up on the left flank in a 4-4-2 formation, with Craig Bryson moving back to his preferred position of central midfield.
Jacobs' place on the bench is taken by 17-year-old Academy player Jamie Hanson.
It is a first appearance in the senior matchday squad for the young defender, who can also play in midfield.
Gareth Roberts serves the second of his three-match ban, so Michael Hoganson continues at left-back following his full debut at the weekend.
Jake Buxton, Mark O'Brien and James O'Connor all remain sidelined with knee problems, so John Brayford partners skipper Richard Keogh in central defence once more, with Kieron Freeman at right-back.
Bolton boss Dougie Freedman makes four changes to the side that drew 1-1 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Sam Ricketts comes in for the suspended Marcos Alonso at left-back, while Chris Eagles, David Ngog and Burton-born Craig Davies start in place of Mark Davies, Steve De Ridder and Kevin Davies.
The visiting team also includes former Derby full-back Tyrone Mears.
