Terror for couple as burglars raid home in Caroline Court, Ilkeston

A COUPLE were forced to lie on the floor while a group of men burgled their home.

Police said they sneaked into the property in Caroline Court, Ilkeston, through an unlocked back door.

The group then demanded money from the couple, in their 50s – who were at home watching television in their living room.

Officers said jewellery, cash and electrical goods were among items taken, after the men told the couple to get down on the floor.

The incident happened on Thursday at about 8pm.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said the men were all wearing either balaclavas or hooded tops with scarves over their faces.

No further description has been given of them.
