Tesco bids to have store wind turbine

TESCO has applied for permission to install at wind turbine outside a Derbyshire store.

The supermarket giant hopes to position the 10.6m high turbine on the site of its Waverley Street store, in Long Eaton.

An application has been lodged with Erewash Borough Council by TNEI services, of Newcastle, on behalf of Tesco.

It states: "The proposal would benefit the environment and reduce energy costs for Tesco.

The company already has turbines at stores in Nottingham and Oldham.
