Ken Smith, national park cultural heritage manager, said: “This event is enormously popular, with people coming back year after year. It is a chance for Derbyshire and Peak District residents to catch up with the work of archaeologists in their area, from both the public and private sector.
“Often their work with volunteers from local historical and archaeological groups produces some of the most exceptional results, and people who’ve been involved are naturally interested in hearing more about them.”
Pre-booking is essential as the event has sold out for the past three years. It costs £12 or £8 for unwaged. To book call Chesterfield Museum on 01246 345727 for a booking form.
