Thorntons' sweet taste of success
DERBYSHIRE chocolate maker Thorntons had a sweet week on the markets with its share price jumping almost 16% over the past week.
The Somercotes firm was the best performer out of the top 10 local listed companies.
1. THORNTONS: UP from £1.09.75 to £1.27, a rise of 17.25p or 15.7%. (London Stock Exchange FTSE Food and Drug Retailers).
2. ROLLS-ROYCE: UP from £5.27 to £5.61.5, a rise of 34.5p or 6.5%. (London Stock Exchange FTSE 100).
3. BOMBARDIER: UP from £3.40 to £3.55, a rise of 15p or 4.4%. (Listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as Bombardier Inc).
4. TOYOTA: UP from £23.75 to £24.52, a rise of 77p or 3.2%. (Listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as Toyota Motor Corp).
5. CITIGROUP (parent company to Egg): UP from £2.21 to £2.24, a rise of 3p or 1.4%. (Listed on the Dow Jones as Citigroup Inc).
6. UNILEVER: UP from £19.32 to £19.54, a rise of 22p or 1.1%. (London Stock Exchange FTSE 100).
7. MARSTON'S: UP from 91.1p to 91.55p, a rise of 0.45p of or 0.5%. (London Stock Exchange FTSE 250).
8. RECKITT BENCKISER: UP from £34.70 to £34.84, a rise of 14p or 0.4%. (London Stock Exchange FTSE 100).
9. MOLSON COORS: DOWN from £26.17 to £26.07, a fall of 10p or 0.4%. (Listed on the Dow Jones).
10. PUNCH TAVERNS: DOWN from 84.7p to 78.1p, a fall of 6.6p or 7.8%. (London Stock Exchange FTSE 100. Restaurants, pubs and breweries).
