Time to turn back the clock to reduce illness
IT'S a strange world we live in. Our schools, hospitals, public buildings have to be built with modern and sterile materials, yet we are seeing a vast amount of illness in places we would not expect.
In hospitals of all places, everyone is running round, clean this, wash that, don't touch that, wash your hands. Now it appears the plastic handles and locks are major carriers of bugs.
Twenty years ago, these bugs were not there. Why? Because everyday things we handled were made of brass or copper on which bacteria died after a few seconds.
As we are recording 43,000 cases of MRSA and clostridium difficile, it's time to act to put back the clock.

“People also worked in dirtier jobs, children played outside more and so were exposed to dirt, bacteria and germs. This allowed most people to build up immunity something that our sterile safe world prevents today. Now we see offices and houses which were ventilated by windows/chimneys being sealed/double glazed and centrally heated/air conditioned so germs now incubate and do not get flushed out all to save money the need for which is increasing as energy companies rob the public to pay shareholders and executives.”
