A GUARD of honour heralded the wedding ceremony of soldier Daniel Tissington and his new bride Suzanne, as they got married in the village of Tissington.

The pair were joined by 10 other Tissingtons and even had their photographs taken by a Derby photographer called Nigel Tissington, at the ceremony on Sunday.

Previously the Derby Telegraph reported how Daniel (25) even made a 70-mile trip to propose to Suzanne in the grounds of Tissington Church last summer.

Daniel, who serves in the 42 Royal Engineers Regiment and his new bride live in Lincolnshire and following the service, at Tissington Church, moved to Tissington Hall where they held a reception.

Sir Richard FitzHerbert, owner of Tissington Hall, said in his welcoming speech that he was thrilled that so many Tissingtons were in the village at once.

He said: "As far as I am aware the couple are the first Tissingtons to wed in the village in 800 years of services at the Norman church."
