STRICTLY Come Dancing star Tom Chambers has been in the wars during his training for the next round of the competition.

On Saturday night, the Derbyshire actor wowed the judges once again with his Paso Doble dance.

He earned himself 34 points, ending up third on the leader board and, with the help of the public vote, he has made it through to week eight of the hit BBC show.

Tom, who plays registrar Sam Strachan in hospital drama Holby City, will take to the dance floor once again this weekend when he will perform the quick-step alongside dance partner Camilla Dallerup.

Tom, 31, has been getting to grips with the dance but grazed his arm while trying to protect Camilla from hitting the wall during one of their training sessions.

Tom, who is originally from Parwich, is one of just three male celebrities left in the competition and last week told the Evening Telegraph that the quick-step was one of the dances he was looking forward to learning.

The former Repton school pupil said: "From having watched shows from previous years, the quick-step looks like great fun and I am looking forward to learning it."
