A CHARITY football tournament could be cancelled unless more teams step forward to take part.

The five-a-side competition is being organised by Garry Brickland to raise money for The Stroke Association.

Mr Brickland, of Harvey Road, wants to hold the event after his grandmother, Nancy Ford, died last year following a stroke.

It is due to take place at the Springwood Leisure Centre, in Oakwood, on Sunday but more teams are desperately needed.

Mr Brickland said: "We may have to cancel the event as at present only five teams are due to take part."

The entry fee for teams is £25.
