BURNASTON car manufacturer Toyota has been selected to represent the UK in a competition to find the most environmentally friendly firms in Europe.

Toyota has been named as one of 11 winners in the UK heats of the European Business Awards for the Environment.

The factory made it through in recognition of the efficiencies made at Burnaston's paint booth, resulting in a 40% cut in carbon emissions.
