A50 fully reopened after three-car smash
A STRETCH of the A50 that was closed following a crash involving three cars has fully reopened.
The accident happened at around 8.40am on the westbound carriageway near the A514 (Swadlincote) turn-off.

Police closed the entire carriageway and later one lane was reopened.
All lanes were reopened by 11am.

One woman was taken to hospital following the crash.
It was the second serious accident to hit the A50 this morning. Earlier, a lorry overturned near Uttoxeter, also on the westbound carriageway.
Both incidents caused long tailbacks.
