Drivers continue to be delayed by the ongoing roadworks taking place along St Alkmund's Way, in Derby city centre. This is affecting traffic in both directions near the A6 King Street.

But rush-hour traffic has yet to build up around the rest of Derby and Derbyshire, with drivers reporting clear routes in and out of the city and county.

Noon

Slow traffic on A601 St Alkmund's Way in Derby city centre at the A6 King Street junction, near the roadworks.

8.15am

Traffic is starting to build along the A52 from Spondon into Derby. There are no accidents just heavy traffic.

7.50am

St Alkmund's Way starting to slow due to the ongoing roadworks in the area.

Uttoxeter New Road is slow heading into Derby and the A38 northbound to Little Eaton is heavy.

7.30am

TRAFFIC is starting to become heavy travelling southbound on the A38 towards Little Eaton island.

Sir Frank Whittle Way is also starting to slow heading towards Pentagon island.

THERE are no problems on the routes in and out of Derby and around the county in general.

The A52 and A38 are fine but traffic is beginning to become heavy on the M1 between junction 26 and 24a.

There are traffic works on the A6 in Ambergate which could cause problems in the area and there are works starting in Normanton on the junction of St Chad's Road, Overdale Road and Whitaker Road.

All public transport is also running to time as is East Midlands airport.

“Travelled along St Alkmunds Way this morning at about 0800, it was dry, fine and not very cold
Saw one workman sitting on a kerb 'guarding' the traffic light, another workman climbing into the cab of a digger and a third workman passing him his sandwiches and that was that no one else
Exactly when are these roadworks due for completion...Will I ever see them finished”
