Traffic update: Snow causing problems on roads in Derbyshire

6.30pm - Traffic is still heavy around the county due to snowy conditions.

There are difficult driving conditions on Main Road, Smalley between Dobholes Lane and High Street.

There is also very slow traffic on the A6 between Broadway and Duffield.

And the Trent Barton's Amberline service had now been suspended for the rest of the evening and other services are facing serious delays.

5.45pm - There are serious delays in Heanor due to weather conditions.

A bus has crashed into a fence on Burnt House Lane, Heanor, sliding into a fence. The driver and passengers are not on the bus and there are thought to be no casualties.

Police are on route to the scene but the driver appears to have abandoned the vehicle.

Buses are still delayed along major routes in the county and one driver has taken more than an hour and three quarters to drive from Bilborough to Loscoe.

5.15pm - There are serious delays to bus services around Derbyshire due to snow.

The following Trent Barton buses are affected:

amberline - not via Aldercar

se7ens 7.2 - suspended

sixes 6.1 - running direct along A6 between Belper and Matlock

sixes 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 - running between Derby and Belper Bus Station only

sixes 6.X - suspended

1A - suspended

All other routes are running normally but there are delays of up to 90 minutes.

There are also serious delays on East Midlands Trains between Derby And London St Pancras due to overhead wire problems in the Luton area.

Services are seriously delayed as no trains are able to run between Luton and the capital.

Passengers are advised to take other routes which may have delays of up to an hour and a half because of the disruption caused.

East Midlands Trains have promised that any tickets not used today will be valid for travel tomorrow.

4.30pm - There are hazardous driving conditions in Cromford between Water Lane and Porter Lane because of ice and snow.

In Stanton Lees there are also problems both ways on Oldfield Lane because of difficult driving conditions due to the weather.

Traffic is also slow on the A38 northbound at Alfreton between the B600 and the M1 at junction 28 with travel time of 10 minutes.

And there is also slow traffic between the A38 and the A6 Matlock Road.
